Various Street Animals Living in Various Conditions

Street animals navigate a myriad of challenging conditions, adapting to urban landscapes and surviving amidst human activity. These resilient creatures often face harsh realities, yet their ability to endure and thrive is a testament to their tenacity. For instance, urban foxes have adapted to city life, finding food and shelter in unlikely places. My photographs aim to shed light on their lives, capturing moments of struggle and resilience in the concrete jungle.

Stork
Jackdaw

When I was living in Delft, Storks were constantly flying around my neigborhood which let me film them and locate their nest 100 meters to my house.

Jackdaws... they are literally everywhere, outsmarting almost all animals and humans they interact. Unfortunately, this one was dealing with a piece of plastic/paper trash that it found around National Park De Biesbosch

Desperate Situation of Animals, Survival

The plight of street animals often goes unnoticed, yet their daily struggle for survival is a powerful story of endurance. These animals face hunger, disease, and danger, relying on their instincts and occasional human kindness. For example, stray dogs in developing countries often form packs and develop complex social structures to survive. Through my photography, I strive to bring attention to their desperate situations, advocating for compassion and support for these vulnerable beings.

People Not Being Able to Look After Pets

Abandonment is a tragic reality for many pets, leading them to fend for themselves on the streets. The loss of a home and the security it provides can be devastating, thrusting these animals into an uncertain and often perilous existence. Studies show that economic hardship and lack of resources are common reasons for pet abandonment. My work captures the heartbreaking reality of abandoned pets, urging for greater responsibility and care from pet owners.

Disabled Dogs

During my first week in the Netherlands, I met this cute family of disabled dogs in Leiden. Back then, I didn't have a camera and I was not into photography so I took a photo with my phone. Shout out to the Australian old lady who was their guardian angel. I hope they are still doing fine after two years.

Hungry for Food, Hungry for Love

Street animals are not only hungry for food but also for love and companionship. Their longing for affection is evident in their interactions with humans, showcasing a deep-seated need for connection and care. Research indicates that social bonds and interactions can improve the welfare and survival rates of stray animals. My photographs capture these moments of yearning, emphasizing the importance of empathy and action in addressing their needs.

They All Need a Home

Every street animal deserves a safe and loving home. Their plight is a reflection of societal neglect, and it is our responsibility to address it. Animal welfare organizations and adoption programs play a crucial role in providing homes and care for these animals. By highlighting their stories through my photography, I aim to inspire action and compassion, advocating for the adoption and care of these animals who are as deserving of love and dignity as any human.
